New Sanno

The DOD runs an AMAZING resort style hotel that is only open to military/retirees right smack dab in the heart of downtown Tokyo. It so beautiful that I thought it desreved its own blog entry :) It's location is in a district called Roppongi Hills and it closely resembles NYC's chic 5th Avenue with its upscale shops and nice restaurants. It is hard to get in without an advanced reservation but we got lucky when someone canceled one night and we got to take their spot. It was great! We checked in, toured the hotel, ate a wonderful dinner in the hotel's Japanese restaurant and went swimming. I wish our entire stay could have been at the New Sanno!
